Maybach Guitars: Back to the Truth

The Maybach Lester® can give you that vintage LP vibe without the sticker shock. Photo credit: Maybach Guitars.

Maybach Guitars was founded in 2013 by musician and entrepreneur Toni Götz. Maybach is a division of iMusicnetwork e.K., a large German distributor of musical instrument brands founded in 1985.

Maybach is all about creating modern classics—guitars that look, play, and sound remarkably similar to vintage guitars.

Maybach instruments are also sustainably sourced, impeccably handcrafted, European made, and affordably priced.

REVERSE ENGINEERED

Prior to launching the brand, Maybach performed painstaking research on the original construction techniques of iconic guitar models. They carefully documented the tonewoods, pickups, finishes, electronics, hardware, dimensions, materials, and other nuances of the original instruments.

MAYBACH'S POPULAR MODELS

Much of Maybach's success derives from several popular models. These include:

  • Lester (LP-style)
  • Albatroz (SG-style)
  • Stradovari (S-style)
  • Texonian (T-style)
  • Jetwing (V-style)
  • Motone (P- and J-Style basses)

Maybach has also created some guitar models of their own, including the Little Wing, Convair, and Marilyn.

THREE PRODUCT TIERS

Maybach offers three basic tiers of guitar manufacturing:

  • Standard Line—made by expert luthiers based in the Czech Republic. Standard specifications apply but some limited build options are available.
  • Classic Line—made by expert luthiers based in the Czech Republic. Many Custom Shop options are available, including pickups, neck radius, hardware, and finish.
  • Masterbuilt Custom Shop—made in Wuppertal, Germany by master luthier Nick Page. High-priced instruments with exquisite attention to detail, stunning craftsmanship, artistic finishes, and unlimited customization options.
